20th International Riversymposium and Environmental Flows Conference
July 11, 2017
Join more than 700 water experts as they share knowledge and innovative ideas on all aspects of river and water management at the 20th International Riversymposium and Environmental Flows Conference, being held in Brisbane on 18-20 September 2017.
Hosted by the International RiverFoundation, the International Riversymposium brings together river managers, policy developers, scientists, consultants, NGOs and community organisations from across the world to promote partnerships between key stakeholders, examine best practice in river and watershed management and celebrate the environmental, economic and social value of rivers across the globe.
A decade on from the hugely successful 10th International Riversymposium and Environmental Flows Conference, International RiverFoundation is inviting water experts to Brisbane to reignite this conversation, with a focus on exploring the progress made, and challenges faced, since the release of the 2007 Brisbane Declaration and Global Action Agenda.
The 20th International Riversymposium and Environmental Flows Conference is an opportunity for those involved in all aspects of sustainable river basin management globally to share their knowledge, learn from others and collaborate – all while enjoying Australia’s stunning river city.
A number of keynote speakers have already been confirmed including:
Prof N Leroy Poff (Australia)
Gerrard Albert (New Zealand)
Dr Anne Poelina (Australia)
Dr Eloise Kendy (USA)
In addition to the Riversymposium, delegates also have the opportunity to attend a number of social events including a welcome reception, Women and Water and the Riverprize gala dinner - which gives recognition to those who have developed and implemented outstanding, visionary and sustainable programs in river management and restoration.
Over the years, the International Riversymposium has hosted thousands of delegates from all over the world and provides the opportunity to network with river and water management experts on a global scale.
