Australian companies invited to join Low Carbon Technology Partnerships initiative
March 19, 2018
Andrew Peterson, CEO of Sustainable Business Australia has highlighted the significance of the Low Carbon Technology Partnerships Initiative (LCTPi) as a key mechanism to accelerate low carbon technology solutions globally that will contribute to staying below the 2 degree C limit outlined in the Paris Agreement.
Speaking at the Climate Leadership Conference in Sydney last week, Mr Peterson announced that Sustainable Business Australia is to be adopted by the SBA as a new program of work and he invited attendees to join.
“LCTPi has become the platform for companies to shape industry best practice on climate action”, he said.
In Australia, LCTPi companies will this year begin to take a structured approach to working with policy makers, starting with a national global webinar in May. This will be followed by the release of an 'ambition plan' in the second quarter of this year, and the first national and possibly regional LCTPi business/government roundtable in the second half of 2018. The first Australian LCPTi report will be released in Poland at COP24 in December.
