New NABERS website provides green building search engine
The NSW-based energy rating program, the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS), has launched a new website which includes a search engine for green buildings.
NABERS is a national program, administered by the NSW government, that measures the environmental performance of buildings.
The new search engine provides a profile of each building including its star rating, rating expiry date, the energy and water use, or indoor quality score, or recycling rates.
The website also provides a step-by-step calculator that lets potential NABERS users enter details about their office building, tenancy, hotel, data centre or shopping centre to estimate a NABERS rating. The calculator makes it easy to understand how your building is performing.
Membership of the NABERS National Steering Committee for the next three years has recently been announced, led by Michelle Croker from the Commonwealth Department of Environment and Energy as Government Chair and Francesca Muskovic from the Property Council of Australia as Stakeholder Chair.
