Tesla’s $91 million lithium-ion battery has netted its French owners a tidy $13 million in revenue in its first half year of operation, according to estimates released by Electrek Magazine.
The estimates were made following a prospectus released by owners Neoene ahead of a pending initial public offering on the Paris stock exchange.
The revenue generated by the farm includes a $2.25 million power purchase by the South Australian government, and an estimated $10.70 million from electricity sales and grid services.
The estimates come after the results were lauded by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), who highlighted the responsiveness and durability of the grid system.
AEMO recently released data that found that the battery is able to dispatch power significantly more rapidly and precisely than conventional power stations.
